摘   要
    自从中国加入WTO和成功申办2008奥运会，国与国之间的交往日益频繁，越来越多的人认识到这给我们提供了发展经济和科技很好的机会，但是由于中西方在价值观社会风俗等方面的不同而产生的文化差异，这就会给我们在跨文化交际中带来冲突。我们应如何解决这一问题呢？本文通过对中西方文化习俗的差异以及产生这种差异的原因做了简要的分析，觉得我们应该在平时学习语言时候，多注意学习和了解本国和西方文化背景知识，培养自己的跨文化意识，避免在跨文化交际中出现不必要的误会和冲突。

Abstract                   
    Since China entries into WTO and the success of Beijing’s application for Olympics, more and more people think that it will be brought a chance of improving the economic and technology, because the increasingly frequent intercultural communication between China and Western. But the different values, social customs bring about the difference of cultural between China and the West in intercultural communication. It maybe brings cultural conflicts. How can we solve it? By comparing and researching Chinese and Western social customs and the reasons of different social customs, my paper indicates: In order to make communication go on smoothly, we should learn more about our culture and western culture in our daily, and develop awareness of intercultural, reduce the conflicts and misunderstanding in our intercultural communication.

I. Introduction 
    Since the penetration of China’s opening up policy, the science and technology are developing rapidly, and the intercultural communication are also more and more frequently. But we can find that people have many difficulties in understanding and communicating with others who come from other country. As there are some differences on cultural perceptions, beliefs, values and social customs, and these facts determine their own communicative ways. It will cause some conflicts by misunderstanding. Therefore, we should be aware of the other culture and know different culture to reduce unnecessary misunderstanding.
